SolarPACES (Solar Power and Chemical Energy Systems) is pleased to announce the upcoming SolarPACES 2017 conference to be held from September 26-29, 2017 in Santiago, Chile
Chile has the world’s best solar radiation. Over the last two years, Chile has held competitive auctions open to all energy generators, and solar developers have won bids, even without subsidies, by tendering lower bids than fossil energy for electricity supplies for the grid. As a result, solar already accounts for more than 5% of Chile’s power generation.
Participating in this year’s conference will give you the opportunity to visit the Atacama Desert to learn first-hand the challenges and the potential solutions that solar can offer the mining sector there. This 23rd edition of the SolarPACES conference is being organized with the help of CORFO; Corporación de Fomento de la Producción as National Host, through its Energy Solar Program and of SERC Chile (Solar Energy Research Center) and is supported by ESTELA; the European Solar Thermal Electricity Association.
It will again offer a scientific and technical conference program that provides an opportunity for industry, research, political and financing stakeholders and experts around the world to gather and share insights into recent R&D activities and new developments in CSP technology with a focus on development, marketing and commercialization.
